Inspired by the work of the Surrealist of the 20th century and traditional female craft, her work looks to tell stories through abstraction and materiality. This work is seen through hand carved wooden forms and illuminated stained glass. Points of light are used to draw the eye, where weights of color lead you through the room. With each material she looks to create softness out of something that seems rigid and to bring undulating forms together, inviting a different perspective from each view.
Based out of Brooklyn, New York, Ginger launched her furniture studio Alexis & Ginger in April 2023 alongside Alexis Tingey. Their studio looks to create pieces that evoke a tactility in time, relics that are linked to the past and present.
